Yeah, I skimmed it - been a bit of hectic day! With the Refused reunion, though, there’s a hell of a lot of emotions flying about. I think all criticisms leveled at them have a degree of validity to them, especially considering their final REFUSED ARE FUCKING DEAD communique, and something like this was always going to piss people off. 

I never saw them back in the day, just like I never saw Led Zeppelin, The Clash, Metallica with Cliff etc, and to be honest I was fine with that. Time and a place, and all that. The way I see it is that people change - do you hold exactly the same beliefs about art and culture today as you did 10 years ago? Do you have the same taste? Do you like exactly the same bands and think the same things about them? 

There’s no right or wrong answer about ‘is this a good thing?’, to be honest. But you have to remember that those four dudes were respected and loved for a reason, and that reason is the fact they were fucking amazing. From the statement they released, it sounds like they’re coming back and playing old stuff… but are you telling me you’re not excited about the idea of a brand new Refused album? I am.
